Do I need to do anything special for follow-up visits?
Patients coming for a follow-up visit will be asked to inform us about any changes in the information or medical history obtained at their original visit. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment so that this information can be updated in your electronic medical record.

What about after hours and weekend coverage for emergencies?
Washington Colorectal Surgery provides coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Should you need to reach us for an issue that cannot wait until the next business day, please call our office at 703.717.4180 to reach our answering service. You will then be contacted by the physician on call. In case of an emergency or situation you consider critical, call 911 or immediately go to the Emergency Department at Virginia Hospital Center or the nearest medical facility.
How do I refill prescriptions?
We request that you call us for routine prescription refills during regular business hours. Prescription refills will not be filled after hours or on weekends.
What insurance plans does the office accept?
Washington Colorectal Surgery participates with the insurance plans listed below. If you do not see your insurance plan included on the list, please feel free to contact us.
We require payment at the time of your appointment for services that are not covered by your insurance. Your insurance may require you to pay a co-payment at the time of your appointment; you are responsible for payment of the co-pay before any services are rendered. We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Your insurance plan may require a specialist referral from your primary medical doctor. Please make sure that you bring this referral with you for your appointment.
Our regular office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please note that the office is closed each day from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. for lunch. If the doctor is delayed due to an emergency, we will make every effort to notify you prior to your appointment.
