PREPERATION FOR PROCEDURE
The following instructions are made to help you prepare your bowel for your procedure. Do not take Aspirin, Alka-seltzer, Plavix, Vitamin E oil, Fish oil, or NSAIDS (e.g. Motrin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Celebrex, Naproxen) for 10 days prior to your procedure!!!
The preparation for your surgery is as follows:
- You will need to be on a clear liquid diet the day before surgery (e.g. water, juice, Gatorade, jello, chicken or beef broth)
- Noon the day before surgery you will need to drink one bottle of Magnesium Citrate.
- Insert one Adult Fleet Enema before going to bed the night before surgery and hold for two to three minutes.
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before your surgery.
- Repeat the Fleet Enema before coming to the hospital
You will need to arrive in building 1625 of the hospital on the 2nd floor, out-patient surgery.
